How to get to the Holiday Gite

If you follow the Loire inland from Nantes you will find Saumur located between the cities of Angers and Tours. On the map above, you will see Saumur at the bottom on the right. One would normally take the A11 south and then, shortly after intersection 12 on the A11, the A85 for around twenty minutes in the direction of Tours not Angers. You leave the A85 at intersection 3 - the Saumur exit. You then follow signs for the D10 to Allonnes and Bourgeuil. After entering Allonnes you will see a Pharmacy on the left side of the road. About 80 yards further on you will see a red Boulangérie or bread shop on your left. Take the left hand turn directly in front of the bread shop and head north for half a mile until you reach La Godinière - a modest château that you will see on your left. Take the next turning right and follow the sign to La Petite Godinière.
